The rare specimen of 56-million-year-old two-tonne rock was relocated into the park where it now provides an additional feature of interest and visitors can take the time to learn about its origins by reading the associated interpretation sign.
The Hertfordshire Puddingstone was moved from its previous location on Adderley Road outside Skew Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, where it was relatively discreet and overlooked, following engagement with East Herts Geology Club.
