Habitat improvements along the River Stort has created a more visually interesting feature within the park and has created a more valuable habitat that will, over time, attract more wildlife.
In conjunction with the habitat improvement work, allowing park visitors to better engage with nature is important. Volunteers installed the viewing platform over the river which provides users with vistas down and upstream, as well as a bird’s eye view onto the riverbed.
The Waterside Stortford wildlife sign was relocated next to the viewing platform so that users can reference the wildlife they see and to create a joined-up feature of interest and education.
