The new café and toilets stand on the footprint of the former Markwell Pavilion.
The Elsie Barratt Room, part of the former Markwell Pavilion, was demolished and the remaining building was renovated into a café with full-service kitchen. The vendors, The Terrace Park Café & Kitchen, have been serving since June with great success.
The new toilets are in a building that is now separate to the café, but this used to be toilets within the Markwell Pavilion building.
The demolition of the Elsie Barratt Room made way for where the café terrace is now situated, overlooking Waytemore Castle. Space for the new toilet building was also created. The toilets provide facilities for café customers as well as park visitors including standard toilets, a disabled toilet and Changing Places Unit.
